Fruitwood spinning wheel, c. late 17th/early 18th century, on bobbin column supports, 121cm high, with an invoice from Muirhead Moffat & Co., dated 21/12/70 stating 'Very rare late 17th century spinning wheel from the collection of Sir Sidney Barry, illustrated in the Dictionary of English Furniture page 138, (figure 2)'.

Some fittings loose. The worm is visible, mainly to the base. Age-related staining and chips to the wood. Wheel is functionable.
