Chinese famille rose oviform ginger jar and cover decorated with polychrome enamel decoration of happy children with their mothers, glazed in typical colours, iron red character marks to the underside for People's Republic of China, approximately 21cm high.
More Information
There is a raised piece of pottery to the rim, could be concealing old restoration. There is crazing to the rim, body and underside and crazing to the underside of the cover. There are losses to some of the polychrome, mainly to one area. The cover is loose and does not sit flush to the jar.
