William Pratt studied at Glasgow School of Art and Academie Julian-Paris. In his fine 'en plein air' work he is considerably influenced by the French artist Jules-Bastien Le Page. His depictions of peasant life in the coutryside were highly influential on many international artists including 'The Glasgow Boys'. Examples of Pratts work are held in Ulster and Paisley museums.
