Victorian antique silver snuff box of rectangular form, engraved with all over simulated tartan chequered design, the hinged cover with presentation inscription 'Presented to Mr John Paterson (Haddington) by the members of the East Lothian Horticultural Society as a mark of their approbation and of their gratitude for his zealous and valuable services as secretary to that institution since its formation 15th September 1842', by James Nasmyth and Co., Edinburgh 1839, 124g, 8.4cm x 5.4cm x 2.2cm.
