Pair of African tribal Gabon/DRC Ambete Mbete carved wooden standing reliquary figures of typical form with applied metalwork to heads, shoulders and arms, one with cowrie shell eyes (the other lacking) and both painted with red and white pigments, the abdomens with cavities each containing a small crudely carved figure and seed pod, each approx. 95cm high.
