The Water of Leith from the south of Edinburgh, with figures to the foreground and Edinburgh castle and Arthur's seat to the background.
Unsigned, oil on canvas, 49cm x 65cm.

No glass preserve to the picture. Some raised creases/lines to the oil. Looking closely there is some visible crackling to the oil. Very good detail and colour to the picture. Age-related staining to the reverse of the canvas. Multiple repairs to the gesso frame. Has possibly been cleaned and re-lined at some point, but difficult to tell regarding the relining..
