DINGLEY ROBERT. Vox Caeli or Philosophical, Historicall and Theological Observations of Thunder. Title in typographic border. No frontis. (as with other examples). Small 8vo. Old calf with plain rebacking. Much foxing throughout. Old ownership inscription of Henery (sic) Frame. 1st ed., For Henry Cripps, 1658. "A very early meteorologically-themed work" with information on early British views of the weather and weather lore etc. Dingley was on the side of parliament in the Civil War and many of his contemporaries would regard thunder as "the loud speaking voice of god".

Lower corners noted as torn off two leaves, with slight loss to marginal running index but not to main text. Leaves generally dried and foxed.
