19th century inlaid mahogany eight day maritime-themed longcase clock, c. 1840, with scroll pediment and inlaid to the frieze of the hood with urns and foliate swags, glazed viewing door flanked by reeded columns, enclosing a 14in painted dial with British sailing boat on rough seas, above celestial globes and a painted figure of Britannia to each corner depicting the four continents, the trunk inlaid with boxwood stringing and quarter reeded column supports, with weights and pendulum, overall approximately 210cm high.
