Near-pair of walnut armchairs, c. early 20th century, upholstered in period floral cream découpage with red stripes of trailing foliage, stamped 'Howard & Sons London' to all brass caps, stamped 'Howard & Sons, Berners St' to back supports, numbered 16862-8412 and 16871-8431, one armchair marked to the underside 'From Howards Ltd., Berners St, London', on brass caps and castors, with later upholstered squab cushions and seat, approximately 87cm high, approximately 78cm wide and approximately 85cm deep.  (2)

Lacking upholstery to armrests on one armchair. Age-related tears to the upholstery of the second armchair. Age-related stains to fabric all over. One of the chairs feels a bit loose when seated. There is movement in the arms and joints, same with the second chair. There is a crack to the back right support of one chair.
