Chinese celadon famille rose oviform ginger jar and cover, probably Republic period, decorated with raised polychrome pink and purple chrysanthemums, bird of paradise to the centre, pink reserves to the shoulders and cover, on celadon ground, marked indistinctly 'China' to the underside, 27cm high, on hardwood stand.

There is a chip to the rim of the jar. Small minor losses to the enamel on the jar and cover. Small areas of age-related crazing to the jar and cover. Some age-related colour fading all over and age-related staining also. There is crazing to the lower and to the underside.
