"PHILO-CALEDON" (poss. Lord Belhaven)  A Defence of the Scots Settlement at Darien with an Answer to the Spanish Memorial against it & Arguments to Prove that it is the Interest of England to Join with the Scots. 86pp. Poor bdgs., labels to paste-down of detached upper brd., single lib. stamp to title & to final leaf. Edinburgh, 1699. This work was ordered to be burnt by by the common hangman & a substantial reward was offered for the arrest of the author. Also Rev. Mr Francis Borland, The History of Darien, 100pp, rubbed half morocco with labels to end papers, front free endpaper det. but present, 2 lib.stamps to title & a single stamp to final leaf. Brown staining to final few leaves. Glasgow, 1779. (2)
