Naval and military bible (instituted in 1780) and lustre tankard with vignette titled "One of the 71st taking a French Officer Prisoner in Portugal", these two items were previously exhibited for 35 year at the Scottish United Services Museum in Edinburgh Castle, these items are believed to have been that of Irishman Lieutenant William Whitelaw of the 88th Connaught Rangers who died at the storming of Badajoz 6th April 1812
